Domagoj Gajski, MD, specialist in neurosurgery

Special interests within neurosurgery include spine surgery (minimally invasive methods), peripheral neurosurgery, and skull base and pituitary tumors.

Neurosurgeon Domagoj Gajski was born in Zagreb, graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka, acting. head of the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the University of Health in Zagreb and works as a specialist in neurosurgery at the Neurosurgery Clinic of the KBC Sestre milosrdnice. He is the secretary of the Croatian Society for Spinal Surgery at the Croatian Medical Association and the doctor of the men’s senior handball team of Croatia.

He graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka in 2013, and in 2015 began his specialization in neurosurgery at the Clinic for Neurosurgery of the Clinical Hospital Center of the Sisters of Mercy in Zagreb. Since 2016, he has been actively working as an assistant and then as a lecturer at the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at the Zagreb University of Health. He spends part of his specialization in one of the most respected centers for neurosurgery in the USA (Semmes Murphey Clinic and The Department of Neurosurgery, University of Tennessee). After successfully passing the specialist exam in neurosurgery, he continues to work at the Clinic for Neurosurgery, KBC Sestre milosrdnice in Zagreb. In December 2018, he was elected as the official doctor of the women’s team, and from 2022, the doctor of the men’s senior national team of Croatia in handball.

He is the secretary of the Croatian Society for Spinal Surgery at the Croatian Medical Association and the assistant secretary of the Association of Southeastern European Neurosurgeons (SeENS). He is a member of numerous international neurosurgical organizations, including the AANS (American Neurosurgeon Association).

He has published several professional and scientific papers and several papers in indexed journals. He is a contributor to the university textbook: Rotim K. et al.: Anatomija. Zdravstveno veleučilište, Zagreb, 2017. He has participated in over 50 national and international professional meetings, a large number of which as a lecturer, and at ten as a member of the organizing committee.
