Ph.D. Iva Kozul Salihagic, MD, urology specialist, subspecialist in urodynamic and neurourology

Ms. sc. Iva Kozul Salihagic, MD, urology specialist, subspecialist in urodynamic and neurourology, is a member of several domestic and international professional societies, including the Croatian Urological Society, the European Urological Society (EAU), and the International Continence Society (ICS).

She received her medical degree in 2004 from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Mostar (BiH). She completed her clinical residency at the Sveti Duh Clinical Hospital in Zagreb in 2005 and 2006, and attended the military officer school at the Petar Zrinski Military Academy in Zagreb as a military physician in 2006 and 2007. In 2007, she began her specialization in urology at the Sveti Duh Clinical Hospital in Zagreb, where she has been working as a urology specialist in the Department of Oncological and Reconstructive Urology since 2012. In 2019, she completed a subspecialty in urodynamics and neurourology and launched a urodynamics and urinary disorders clinic at the Sveti Duh Clinical Hospital.

In 2011, she completed a postgraduate specialist study in urology at the Faculty of Medicine in Zagreb. She defended her master’s thesis titled “Association of Younger Age with Aggressive Forms of Prostate Cancer” under the mentorship of Prof. Dr. Ivan Gilja in 2012 at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Mostar. In addition to Croatia, she has also pursued further education abroad in countries such as the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Italy, where she honed her urological and surgical skills in various medical education courses.

Ms. sc. Kozul Salihagic has participated in numerous domestic and international congresses, delivering various lectures and organizing and conducting courses. She has also published several professional and scientific papers and co-authored chapters in the university textbook Surgery, edited by Ante Kvesic and colleagues, which was published in 2016 by Medicinska naklada in Zagreb (chapters on “Testicular Tumors,” “Penile Tumors,” and “Emergency States in Urology.”)

She has held various professional positions, including being a member of numerous domestic and international professional societies, including the Croatian Urological Society, the European Urological Society (EAU), and the International Continence Society (ICS).

In her spare time, she engages in creativity, which helps her to be even more devoted to her medical profession. She writes poems and stories for children and has published several children’s books, with which she has appeared in many schools and libraries throughout Croatia and abroad. In 2022, she completed the Certified Course in Ceramics at the People’s Open University in Zagreb, earning the title of Object Shaper in Ceramics. She has participated in numerous group exhibitions and fairs with her original art pieces.
