Prof. Dr. Sc. Mislav Jelić, MD, orthopedic specialist

Specialist in orthopedics and subspecialist in traumatology, internationally awarded expert in knee disease treatment. Possesses extensive experience in knee endoprosthesis implantation.

Professional journey

He graduated in 1995 from the University of Zagreb School of Medicine. In 1996, he became employed at the Anatomy Department of the University of Zagreb School of Medicine, and the same year he enrolled in the scientific postgraduate studies in biology, specializing in biomedicine. In 1998, he started his orthopedic specialization at the Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb. After that, in 2000, he enrolled in a specialist postgraduate study in orthopedics. In 2003, he passed the specialist orthopedic exam and obtained the title of orthopedic specialist. In 2010, he was appointed Head of the Reconstructive Locomotor System Department at the Department of Orthopedics of the University of Zagreb School of Medicine and Clinical Hospital Center Zagreb. He has received various scientific and professional awards, including the Academician Drago Perović award for “the most valuable morphological discussion by students at the Faculty of Medicine in 1995,” the award for best presentation at the Second European Conference on Bone Morphogenetic Proteins in 2002, the “Jacques Duparc” award at the European Association of Orthopedists and Traumatologists (EFORT) congress in Helsinki, Finland in 2003, and the Hughston award for the best published paper with a group of authors in the American Journal of Sports Medicine in 2008. He is also the holder of two international patents. He teaches undergraduate and postgraduate medical studies.
